Pittsburgh & Apollo

Even rain can't dampen the spirits of the American worker. A week ago, while alongside Charlie campaigning in Pittsburgh, we had the pleasure of being amidst the workers of Western Pennsylvania as we marched through the streets of Pittsburgh during a downpour of rain, to the cheers of the many supporters lining the streets of downtown. We had a great weekend in Pittsburgh.

On Sunday we ventured up route 28 to Apollo to attend the annual Westmoreland County Labor Day festival, eating lunch with dozens of union employees who were cooking up delicious food (I ate a meatball hoagie, 2 hot dogs, and a burger). Prior to getting to the fair grounds, Charlie and I stopped off at Trunzo's Driving Range in Apollo and had a long drive contest, as a pretty avid golfer I had trouble admitting defeat but Charlie proved this weekend that golf can be added to the list of things he does well. This was a great weekend for the campaign and showed just how much fun campaigning is, especially when you get to do it with someone who believes passionately in what they are saying like Charlie.

Thanks for the great weekend, Pittsburgh we will see you again real soon. I never did get my Primanti Brother's sandwich (Italian Sausage for those of you who know Primanti's). I will have to do that next time I am in town.
