Presidential Endorsement

It's not normal for candidates to endorse other candidates of the same party, but these are not normal times, nor am I a normal candidate. All of the candidates bring something to the table, and all have shaped the national dialog about the future of the country, which Bush doesn't seem to care about whatsoever. But only one candidate is a true leader.

I endorse Howard Dean for President.

Dean has shown two things through his campaign to take back America that the Democratic Party (and the country) sorely needs: leadership, and a sense of justice and fairness. I will actively campaign for Dean throughout the next year. My views are closer to Kucinich's, but we really need someone who can invigorate the American people, and Dean has already done that tremendously through his grass-roots and net-roots campaign. Further, he is not part of the DLC, an organization that has led the Party into the desert, away from our core, people-centered values (my primary opponent is a DLC member) and toward the right-wing agenda of Free Trade and corporate-centered politics.

Note: this is not a bi-directional endorsement. Howard Dean and I have never met, and I am not asking for his endorsement.

This time, vote for what you believe in. I believe we need true leadership, economic and social justice, and a return to people-powered politics, not the top-down pay-to-play politics of the past. You can change the world; Howard Dean is giving you a great opportunity to do that. So am I.

Sounds like Rendell likes Dean too:

Gov. Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania, who has so far not endorsed a candidate in the race, said: "He's the only Democrat who can keep pace with Bush financially. And he wears well. He's not flashy or slick. He gives you direct answers to questions. He has the potential to be our strongest candidate."
