Bring the Troops Back Home
The White House does not have control of the situation in Iraq. Going in with puffed chests and fingers crossed, they created an unmanageable non-country without accomplishing their own stated mission of eliminating Saddam Hussein. Hussein persists, supported by tens of millions of dollars to carry out a disruptive, asymmetric guerilla war against all foreign targets, including the American soldiers. As more of our friends and neighbors die or suffer permanent injury from the regular stealth attacks, the hapless Bush team continues to say with a straight face that everything is going as planned, and that they always said it wouldn't be easy. Well, George, there's a difference between a difficult job and the negligent handling of it. You are a negligent, incompetent, careless person who should--with all of your staff--resign. Sadly you are also arrogant, which means you will not resign, the situation will worsen, and you will declare victory and pull out. Folks, our president and his team are cowards. We need new leadership in Washington. The Bush economy has failed, giving us Wal-Mart jobs instead of quality jobs and a booming Chinese economy. The Bush oil-driven foreign policy has failed, giving us body counts, no control of Iraq, a guerilla war, and terrible instability in the Middle East. The Bush Education plan has failed; it's an un-funded mandate with disconnected, ill-informed parameters. Bush is a failure. And Arlen Specter has enabled that failure every step of the way. I've heard disturbing things across this state about Arlen Specter. Things like "he's not that bad, it's the other one I can't stand." Or "He's ok, he's pretty liberal," and "He beings a lot of money to the state". Folks, that's his job. All Senators bring money to their home state. When Rick Santorum said those hateful things about gays, where was Specter? Right by his side, defending him. When Santorum attacked Medicare, where was Specter? Nowhere. When John Ashcroft wanted to take away our civil liberties--and did--where was Specter? Specter gave away our civil liberties, made the government entirely too powerful, and said nothing in defense of our rights. Joe Hoeffel did too, a vote I'm sure he regrets now. You have a decision to make. You can work toward getting more of the same, or you can vote for clear change. I represent clear change. I am not a politician, I do not take corporate money or give corporate favors, and I have the backbone to stand up for our rights, our futures, our country. But you have the power to put me in the position to catalyze positive change in this country. I encourage you to support my campaign--you can make all the difference in the world.
