Wal-Mart Horror Stories
Somebody from the CWA sent me this link. Here's an excerpt: "God forbid if you are injured on the job. They do everything they can to force you out and make you quit or just flat out fire you. Their basic belief is that every accident is your fault. If you have one you are forced to go to classes on the weekend for several weeks to learn about safety and write essays on why you were injured. If you do not show up for these classes you can and will be terminated. God bless you! Posted by: sex porno at July 25, 2004 04:59 AMThese ludacris comments are very entertaining, of which NONE are factually based. As an associate at the Home Office of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in Bentonville, AR, I am dumbfounded by the ignorance of today's general population who "hate" Wal-Mart. If so many people really don't like Wal-Mart then how did it become the WORLD'S largest retailer? Easily. No, not because they supposedly underpay their associates to preform similar tasks as others at competetive retailers. An excerpt from Stan Cox @ AlterNet: "Last spring, I did a little amateur research that illustrated how Wal-Mart's wages can fail to provide for even a rock-bottom living standard -- even at Wal-Mart prices. Email responses arrived over the next few days. Among the many colorful "I hate Wal-Mart" messages were notes from some critics who maintained, via arguments worthy of Dr. Pangloss, that the company's wages are just about right, because otherwise no one would work there." He goes on with ex-employees statements that show exactly why they are EX-employees. They apparently were not coherent of Sam's 3 Basic Beliefs: This comment supposedly came form an ex-employee who previously stated that he/she had been a member of management off and on throughout their 8 year career. As a matter of fact, I am really not even affected by all of the negative publicity that my great company attracts. Jealousy is what it boils down to. Which is not really uncommon when you are a company tha employs 1,485,000,000+ associates. Look at it like this...Things bad about walmart will come up, as they will also pass on and readers will become content again, yet to awake tomorrow to a new story about how wal-mart supposedly under pays and overworks. I need some sleep Hey, I was surfin' for local sites and found my way here. Great looking site. Posted by: scat shit eating at July 21, 2004 11:25 PMThank you for maintaining such a great site. Here's another excellent article about Wal-Mart: "The Wal-Mart You Don't Know -- The giant retailer's low prices often come with a high cost. Wal-Mart's relentless pressure can crush the companies it does business with and force them to send jobs overseas. Are we shopping our way straight to the unemployment line?" it's real sad that Wal-Mart is Pennsylvania's biggest employer. Posted by: terry at November 20, 2003 11:04 PMPost a comment
