Bush Speaks, We Speak
Today George W. Bush, the man who would be President, visits Central Dauphin High School to talk about 21st Century Jobs. Now I'm not sure why he chose to speak about the Indian and Chinese economies, and I'm baffled about his choice of venue. Unless, of course, he came to apologize to the students whose future he dealt overseas, or to announce new funding for classes in Hindi, Cantonese, and my favorite, "Fashion Choices of the Succcessful Overseas Job Seeker." The new Bush economy needs corresponding new curricula. Either way, make sure you pack your toothbrush because if you're interested in 21st Century jobs, they are available after about a 15-hour flight to Southeast Asia. At about 10:30 a number of us (hundreds?) will gather near Central Dauphin High School to voice our opposition to Bush's economy-killing, jobs-killing, community-undermining policies. See you there? Addendum himself and his own perceived but rather "man-behind-the-curtain" illusory power, TJ surprised me with an almost coherent attack on Bush (surprised because the only attacks we heard from TJ last year were on me and other Democrats for having the audacity to try to serve this state by running for office). I say almost because Rooney's fact sheet sports a number of grammatical errors, proving his own implied point that we need to invest more in education in Pennsylvania. Rooney attended high school during Reagan's presidency, which may explain his inability to put two related sentences together without reverting to headline format. TJ, you're the big man on campus. You can afford a decent writer and a proofreader. I can't, sadly, given my nice pile of "party unity" campaign debts. Now there's a story, folks.
